Integrites, EKN and Finnvera held a trade finance seminar in Kiev
10 November 2011. International law firm Integrites, export-credit agencies of Sweden EKN and Finland Finnvera held a trade finance seminar on «Attracting trade finance under the guarantees of export-credit agencies of Sweden and Finland», that took place on the 10th of November in Kiev.
The seminar «Attracting trade finance under the guarantees of export-credit agencies of Sweden and Finland» highlighted peculiarities of cooperation between importers and export-credit agencies, current conditions for trade operations insurance, and evaluation of possible risks. Participants of the seminar listened to the representatives of EKN and Finnvera, leading export-credit agencies of Sweden and Finland, international law firm Integrites, and took part in the questions and answers session.
Managing Partner of Integrites, Vyacheslav Korchev, gave a presentation on "Transparency of Ukrainian business for export-credit agencies in the existing political system." According to him, in 2012 Ukraine is expected to increase the volume of foreign trade operations covered by ECA. Outi Homanen, senior counsel of Finnvera, noted that "The total amount of guarantees issued by Finnvera trade finance by the end of 2010 totaled Euro 9.5 bln". Oscar Entrambasaguas, underwriter of export credit agency EKN, outlined that: "Despite the fact that Ukraine is evaluated as a country with a fairly high risk of nonpayment, according to EKN, payment discipline of Ukrainian importers is high enough." Besides, the representatives of the ECA confirmed that a significant amount of issued guarantees were provided to the CIS countries and Latin America.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the leading Ukrainian importing companies.
