International law firm Integrites successfully defended one of the largest Ukrainian agricultural holdings in GAFTA arbitration
Under the project’s framework, ILF Integrites represented the client at GAFTA (Grain and Feed Trade Association), London, in arbitration proceedings against one of the leading Ukrainian producers and exporters of agricultural commodities. The dispute for USD 28 million occurred following the ban on the export of grain from Ukraine, officially imposed in October 2010. The case was complicated considering the jurisdictional powers of the Forum as far as it involved obligations of the third parties in connection with the arbitration agreement.
During arbitration Integrites’ lawyers proved to GAFTA that Ukrainian exporter hadn’t violated the contract and received an award in favor of the client.
The legal support was provided by Yuriy Korchev, associate, led by Vyacheslav Korchev, Senior Partner of ILF Integrites.
