Liakhov Andrei

Andrei Liakhov is a well-known international expert on capital markets, corporate finance and asset management and has a Doctorate in Law. He has great experience in both the public and private sectors of Great Britain and the CIS countries. He has represented: governments and banking regulation bodies in  a number of CIS countries and the EU. He has also represented large multinational companies such as Lukoil, British Petroleum, Angloashanti PLC, Peter Hambro Mining PLC (now known as Petropavlovsk) Kazakhmys PLC, HSBC and Rothschilds.  Andrei`s clients   also include such international financial institutions as the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, the IMF, the IFC and the European Investment Bank.

Andrei specializes in asset management, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, international arbitration, natural resources and aviation. He is also a recognized expert  on establishing international joint business ventures, as well as in major corporate restructuring.

Andrei has provided consulting services to leading British companies and financial institutions, and also provided legal support in important deals, such as   the share flotation of Ashanti Gold, JKX Oil & Gas PLC and Bakyrchik Gold at the London Stock Exchange. He has also given legal advice about  the process of privatization and restructuring of the Shlyahski Bank, in the process of establishment of regional venture funds to the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and the establishment and share flotation of the first Open-Ended Investment Company on the London Stock Exchange.

Mr. Liakhov is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Lithuanian Lawyers Association and the Ryazan Regional Lawyers Association.

Andrei has a diploma from the College of Law of England and Wales and has an honorary Doctorate in law from Karlov University in Prague. He also holds the degrees of Candidate and Doctor of Law of the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR and the Academy of Sciences of Lithuania.
