International law firm Integrites in cooperation with English partners – Stephenson Harwood LLP and Morris Chase International – held an international business seminar on asset tracing and recovery of foreign assets of debtors.
"Foreign assets of debtors: Found. Attached. Recovered" international business seminar took place on December, 11 at InterContinental Kiev Hotel and became the final large-scale business event initiated by Integrites this business season. It gathered recognized experts in the field of international dispute resolution and asset tracing from the UK and Ukraine as well as representatives of more than 50 largest banks, leading financial groups and large companies from the real economy sector of Ukraine.
International speakers, represented by Michael Morris, partner of Morris Chase International, Louis Flannery and Shai Wade, partners of Stephenson Harwood LLP, Ros Prince, senior associate of Stephenson Harwood LLP, and Tatiana Minaeva, head of Stephenson Harwood's CIS Group, revealed the asset tracing practice and enforcement techniques in terms of English law through real cases study and scrutinized asset tracing phases and strategies.
The analysis of Ukrainian realities in matters of searching, arresting and recovering assets in comparison with international practice was made by Maksym Kodunov, counsel at ILF Integrites, and representatives of Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine: Andrei Butsa, chief prosecutor of the Department of monitoring on compliance of laws against laundering of proceeds from crime, and Aleksandr Novikov, chief prosecutor of the Department of protection of financial and economic interests of the state.
The key feature of business-seminar was its interactive format, which allowed guests to be actively involved in the High Court of England and Wales session for obtaining a worldwide freezing order, staged by speakers under the moot court.
