Senior partner Vyacheslav Korchev has become the invited moderator of the panel “Ukraine – Fighting to uphold the rule of law” at International Symposium on Economic Crime which took place at Jesus College, Cambridge, UK, on 1-8 September, 2024.
The panel highlighted the achievements and further challenges in the anti-corruption realm in Ukraine during the war and featured a roster of esteemed speakers: Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention Viktor Pavlushchyk; Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Semen Kryvonos; Prosecutor of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Andrii Kasian; Ukraine’s MP and member of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Yelyzaveta Yasko; judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court Oleksii Kravchuk.
Vyacheslav Korchev about the panel: “The key takeaway from the panel to me is in the fact that Ukraine remains invincible almost three years into the war, and the success of the anti-corruption efforts will largely depend on the overall political will to strengthen the rule of law and integrity standards at all levels. I’m deeply grateful to the organisers of the Symposium for extending an invitation to moderate the Ukrainian panel for the second consecutive year. It’s a great honour for me to contribute to its organisation and to the discussion about the progress which Ukraine has been making despite the war.”
First convened in 1982, the Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime has established itself as a unique vehicle for promoting greater understanding of the practical issues involved in preventing and controlling economic crime. Annually, the event welcomes nearly 2,000 participants from more than 100 countries to participate in 120+ topical sessions.
