Ukraine needs EUR 100 bln of capital investment over the next 10 years to reduce emissions to 35% of 1990s levels
To synchronize the Ukrainian Green Course with the European Green Deal, the Government sets an ambitious goal to restructure the economic model and to attract large-scale investment for energy sector modernization.

Ukraine transforms coal regions launching pilot projects in two cities
The projects will last for 5 years, involve approximately EUR 35 mln of investments, and include 5 regions with a population of almost 1 mln people.

The government is working to ensure the harmonious and fair development of the green energy sector in Ukraine
It should help to modernize the mining and processing industries of Ukraine, improve the legislative and administrative bases for investors. 
 
The EU designs the first carbon border tax

The EU imposes a carbon border tax on imports of carbon-intensive steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers and electricity, as part of a 10-year goal to cut carbon emissions by 55% from 1990s levels.
Ukraine bans import of diesel and gasoline cars from 2030

A ban on import of used diesel cars enters into force on January 1, 2027.
