Ainur Akhmetova participated in the Astana Mining and Metallurgy Congress

Ainur Akhmetova, Associate of the International Law Firm Integrites, participated in the Astana Mining and Metallurgy Congress, which took place on May 25-26, 2017 in Astana in the Palace of Independence in Astana.

The organizers of the Astana Mining and Metallurgy Congress were Iteca, ITE Group and ITE Eurasian Exhibitions.

Heads of Government, Ministers of the mining countries, and First heads of Industrial Corporations and international experts traditionally took part in the АММ forum.

The purpose of the Forum has been the discussion the mining sector development strategy with the focus on exploration, mining and metallurgy.

In the first day of the Forum there were forum plenary session on strategic drivers for MMC development, procedure of signing number of memoranda and three following Forum Sessions: Market Leaders. Development strategies; The investment potential for geological exploration; and Industry modernisation and implementing Industry 4.0. Also, entire day there was Start-Up Project area, where presenting local and international MMC startups with high export potential and the possibility to develop into large technological companies.

Mr. Mamin, the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kasymbek, the Minister for Investment and Development of the RK and Mr. Kelimbetov, the Manager of the Astana International Financial Center presented overview reports at the plenary session “Strategic drivers of growth for MMC”.

At the first session of the forum “Market Leaders. Development Strategy” initiated by the Ministry for Investment and Development, the heads of the major companies of the Industry, Industry Associations and foreign experts discussed “Modernization 3.0” in the context of MMC, investment expectations and market trends.

The second session of the Congress was devoted to the investment potential of geological exploration. An overview of the financial condition of large investors and their requirements for projects in Kazakhstan, as well as mechanisms for financing mining companies through the Exchange of AIFC were offered to the delegates.

The third session of the AMM was held under the banner of Modernization and Industry 4.0. Sanjar Kettebekov, the General Director of Park of Innovative Technologies ACF told about digitalization of MMC in Kazakhstan. Foreign experience of digitalization in the MMC was presented by Bernardo Marinho, Business Development Engineer, Chemtech Siemens (Brazil).

In the second day was full of interesting parallel specialised round tables on the following themes: Training and professional development of engineering and technical personnel for MMC; Ensuring industrial safety at mining businesses in Kazakhstan; Days of Australia MMC in Kazakhstan presentation series; Industry 4.00 Analysing big data arrays and implementing additive technologies in MMC businesses; State policy on ferrous metallurgy in light of Kazakhstan joining OECD Steel Committee; Regional geological and film-making works – a basis of effective search of mineral deposits; Subsoil Use Code; Developing jewelry production in Kazakhstan.

Ainur Akhmetova took place in three round tables, where discussed themes such as “The subsoil and subsoil use code is an indispensable but insufficient basis for active subsoil use”, “Changes in the principles of subsoil use and their relationship to the taxation system”, “Topical issues of the ongoing reform of the legislation on subsoil use”, and “Virtual Reality Technology – a means to achieving the full potential of Big Data in the mining industry”, “Iluka’s Projects in Kazakhstan”, “Software usage for geological exploration and mining by Kazakh mining companies” and also presentation of number of professors and directors of firms on themes on Training and professional development of engineering and technical personnel for MMC.

At the end of the Congress the bilateral meetings in the format of B2B took place, and all participants were provided with a unique opportunity to share their experience and exchange contacts to establish mutually beneficial and productive cooperation in the future.
