INTEGRITES took part in the Senior Trainee Week by Lifelover

INTEGRITES took part in the Senior Trainee Week arranged by the charitable foundation Lifelover* for the fourth year in a row. Aimed at challenging the ageism stereotypes in Ukraine, the project allows people aged 50+ to discover and learn new occupations.

INTEGRITES trainee Larysa Vasylenko used to work as a chemist-radiologist in the Institute of Agroecology and Environmental management of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS), and later became successful as a real estate agent. Qualified swimmer in the past, now Larysa is fond of astrology and dance. For one week, Larysa assisted the business development department at INTEGRITES as an analyst. She monitored and collected news in certain areas, searched and performed primary analysis of selected companies, researched economic relations between Ukraine and Canada. She performed her tasks and communicated with her colleagues remotely.

We share the values of the foundation and gladly participated in the Senior Trainee Week. Larysa Vasylenko was excited to develop new skills in data search and analysis, to get to know new people and to contribute to the firm’s projects. We are deeply grateful for her work and hope this experience will help her in future endeavors”.

Stanislava Orlovska, team lead at Lifelover: “Senior Trainee Week is the initiative aimed to shape zero tolerance to ageism. Unfortunately, many employers currently consider age one of the main criteria in talent acquisition. But in fact, applicants aged 50+ can offer unique work and life experience, competences and skills that can be as helpful as advanced use of Telegram and Zoom. This year the project was all online: trainees worked remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic. We thank INTEGRITES for the partnership, we appreciate the firm’s own example of action against the age discrimination in Ukraine”.

*Lifelover is the charitable foundation established in 2013 to provide targeted help and arrange leisure time for the elderly. With an extensive volunteer network, the foundation gives the older generation many opportunities to socialize and integrate into local communities, as well as provides access to free meals and medications.
