INTEGRITES protected interests of ORLEN Lietuva in the UAH 1.5 mln customs dispute

17.09.2020

INTEGRITES protected interests of ORLEN Lietuva, one of the leading refineries and suppliers of petrol and jet fuel to Ukraine and the Baltic states, in the 1.5 UAH million dispute with the Zhytomyr office of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

The dispute arose due to the allegations that the company had intentionally misinformed the customs regarding a jet fuel shipment to Ukraine. Complications during customs clearance led to the seizure of the shipment by the regional customs. Having provided well-grounded evidence to prove the client’s position, INTEGRITES lawyers succeeded to resolve the dispute during proceedings in courts of the first and appeal instances.

The defense strategy implemented by the Tax and Customs team at INTEGRITES resulted in the release of the jet fuel shipment from the seizure and closure of the case.

The team working on the case included Partner and Head of Tax and Customs Viktoriya Fomenko and Senior Associate Kostiantyn Kharchenko.
