The Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Yuriy Terentev together with the expert from the Federal Trade Commission David Frankel provided the presentation related to the legal approaches of competition agencies as to the counteraction of unfair competition.
“Fair advertising brings prosperity for business, therefore, it is important to ensure awareness of the market members on the requirements set by the competition legislation, in particular, by establishing of such platforms as ‘Legal Hub”. Advantages in verified advertising materials are obvious: avoidance of antitrust risks and the possibility of obtaining guaranteed legal protection against unfair competitors”, – mentioned Serhiy Shershun, counsel of the antitrust and competition practice at INTEGRITES.
‘’Such events are essential from the point of view of further building a constructive dialogue and mutual understanding between business and the appropriate authority. Besides, such initiatives, from the point of the Committee’s view, allow us to actively listen to the current needs of companies, to answer specific questions in case of ambiguity or misunderstanding. We appreciate the desire of business to act proactively in seeking the Committee as a deliberative tool. This is a reasonable approach – in advance to the consultation, protecting ourselves from possible violations of the legislation”, – summed up Yuriy Terentev, the Chairman of the AMCU.
