Olena Perepelynska spoke at the conference devoted to the official launch of Prague rules in cooperation with GAR

14 December 2018, Prague. Olena Perepelynska, Partner, Head of CIS Arbitration practice at INTEGRITES and President of the Ukrainian Arbitration Association (UAA) acted as a speaker during the conference devoted to the official launch of Prague rules in cooperation with Global Arbitration Review.

Olena spoke within the panel discussion “Lie to me. Fact witnesses vs. documentary evidence: can documents lie?” In particular, she focused on the weight of witness evidence in many civil law jurisdictions and provided examples from the procedural legislation, court practice and practice of some local arbitral institutions. Olena also explained why this type of evidence is not popular in CIS region.

From the very first drafts elaborated by the Working group, Prague Rules were in spotlight of many debates and discussions and finally they were officially launched to serve their purpose. They were created to increase the efficiency of arbitral proceedings by encouraging tribunals to take a more active role in managing the proceedings. Olena is a member of the Working Group and has signed the Prague Rules on behalf of UAA.
