Vsevolod Volkov, partner at INTEGRITES delivered a speech at event EU Users’ View on Data Protection within the GDPR: How to Implement in Ukraine?”

On March 27, 2018 international law firm INTEGRITES together with the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine conducted an event devoted to discussion of the new EU legislation on personal data protection that would enter into force on May 25, 2018 and affect all companies that work with the EU residents or their personal data.

During the event the participants had an opportunity to receive from the speaker Neil Baylis, Partner in K&L Gates LLP, who has an extensive experience in consulting business on all aspects of EU and UK commercial and competition law, updated information related to personal data processing within the GDPR and to listen to the problems that business faced in the EU countries.

Vsevolod Volkov, partner at INTEGRITES, along with banking and financial law devoted his speech to analyzing acting legislation on personal data protection in Ukraine and changes that business should expect with GDPR implementation.

The following speakers also took part in the event. Iryna Bisyk, Head of the Personal Data Protection Office of the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine described in details the work that had been done by the Secretariat and what needed to be done in the nearest future to implement GDPR in the Ukrainian legislation. Roman Proskurovskyy, Deputy Head of the Information Security Department of the National Bank of Ukraine, told the participants and answered all their question related to personal data protection in banking field due to the GDPR. Technology Strategist at Microsoft Ukraine, Ihor Malchenyuk told about pitfalls in GDPR compliance from the point of technical implementation.
