The Senior Associate of INTEGRITES Kazakhstan International Law Firm, Alma Umirzhanova, joined the working group of the National Movement “Kazakhstan-2050” on the project “Ashyk Arna”. An initiative group of citizens created the movement «Kazakhstan 2050» in December 2013.

Nowadays, the Movement “Kazakhstan 2050” has implemented more than 40 socially significant projects in the areas of education, ecology, civil society, business, health and politics.

The project “Ashyk Arna” is an Open Government and is not an authoritative body. This is a system of principles of public administration, based on the voluntary involvement of initiative citizens, public organizations and business associations in the decision-making process of government bodies.

The goal of the Open Government is to improve the quality of legal acts and decisions adopting by government bodies, as well as to achieve a balance between the interests of the government and society.

The open government of “Ashik Arna” offers to the citizens the opportunity to participate in the discussion of draft legal acts, the republican and local budgets, make proposals and recommendations, as well as assess the activities of government bodies.

In this regard, a working group has been established in order to implement the project “Ashyk Arna” that will identify the gaps of the legal act’s draft or the legal act that is already in force. The working group will monitor and select topics for a preliminary discussion on the Open Government platform https://open.egov.kz. Upon the discussions, the recommendations will be prepared both on legal acts and on the improvement of the dialogue between society and government.

The meeting of the working group will be held in Almaty on May 20, 2017.
